Holiday Overview
Renowned for its stunning fjords, world-class seafood, Viking heritage, and charming port towns, Norway is an exceptional holiday destination. And what better way to explore it than aboard P&O's flagship cruise liner, the Iona?
The Iona offers pure luxury with fully accessible cabins, a swimming pool, theatre, four-screen cinema, and the impressive glass-roofed SkyDome. On your Norwegian fjords tour, you’ll visit Stavanger, known for its historic wooden city centre, and Alesund, famous for its Art Nouveau architecture and breathtaking natural scenery. You’ll also stop in Olden, where you can marvel at the stunning fjords carved by millions of years of glacial erosion, including Innvikfjorden, Nordfjord, and surrounding waterways. The journey ends in Haugesund, the historic homeland of the Viking raiders who swept across Europe from the 8th to 11th centuries.
As with all Limitless holidays, our care team will be on hand throughout the trip, ensuring you receive the support you need to fully enjoy your experience. From assistance at check-in to help with transfers and a special “potter around the port” service, exclusively for Limitless guests, you’ll be well taken care of during your stops in Stavanger, Alesund, Olden, and Haugesund.
Your tour includes accommodation in a full-board, accessible cabin aboard the Iona. For more information on accessibility aboard the ship, feel free to contact one of our Limitless Travel Advisors at 0800 711 7232.

** Limitless Travel carefully pick out cruise itineraries to ensure minimal anchor ports (where a small boat or ‘tender’ transports guests to shore) Unfortunately port changes can happen due to a number of reasons while at sea. Limitless Travel will not be held accountable for any port changes.
Our adventure begins today! You can either join our transfer to the cruise port or take advantage of the complimentary parking before boarding P&O’s Iona cruise ship. Launched in 2019, the Iona is the largest in the P&O fleet, featuring a sleek, modern design and state-of-the-art facilities.
Our care team will assist with checking in your bags, which will be delivered straight to your room. As you’re staying in an accessible cabin, you’ll also enjoy Priority Embarkation, meaning your holiday can start straight away!
On your first day at sea, we’ll cruise along the English coast and into the North Sea. It’s the perfect time to explore the ship, relax with stunning ocean views, and enjoy the many onboard amenities.
Want to catch a film at the four-screen cinema? You’re all set. Prefer a cocktail at the Club House? The Iona’s talented bartenders are ready to serve. As always, our experienced care team will be available throughout the day to ensure you make the most of your time onboard.
For more information regarding the on board activities, keep an eye out for the Horizon paper delivered to your cabin. This will keep you up to date with locations and times so you can plan your days, and not miss out on a thing.
Land ahoy! Our first port of call is Stavanger, offering a perfect introduction to the stunning Norwegian coastline. Once a Viking stronghold, this charming city is known for its beautiful wooden houses that line the historic centre. The ship will dock just a 10-minute walk from the city, allowing you plenty of time to explore this picturesque destination. The Limitless staff will be on hand throughout the day to assist with disembarkation and to accompany the group as you wander through this enchanting town.
The peaceful village of Olden has the perfect Fjordland cruise setting - nestling at the southern end of one branch of the beautiful Nordfjord and at the entrance to the gorgeous Oldedalen Valley.
Olden is blessed with a beautiful fjordic coastline, towering mountains and the biggest glacier on mainland Europe, Jostedalsbreen. There’s easy access to both the Briksdal and Kjenndalen glaciers, plunging dramatically into the valleys below. Crystal-clear Lake Oldevatnet is set among steep mountains and roaring waterfalls. In a nutshell, it’s Norwegian nature at its finest.
In the early evening we'll set sail again cruising through Innvikfjorden & Nordfjord - camera at the ready
Famous for its Art Nouveau architecture, Ålesund is the cultural centre of the Sunnmøre region. Enjoy a scenic cruise of Geirangerfjord before you disembark in the centre of town. One stormy night a hundred years ago, the town burned down and was entirely rebuilt in Art Nouveau style with a varied cultural scene, exciting cafes and restaurants.
*Please note for certain sailings the ship will stop in Hellesylt or Flam rather than Ålesund. For further information please speak with one of our team on 0800 711 7112.
Today, we arrive in Haugesund, the heartland of the Vikings. While the town itself is relatively young, the surrounding area was once a center of Viking activity, and Norway’s first king, Harald Fairhair, lived just 8km from here. Despite its small size, Haugesund is brimming with culture, hosting the Norwegian International Film Festival and an acclaimed annual jazz festival.
As we dock, you’ll have the option to explore the town or stay aboard the Iona, where you can enjoy the sauna, steam room, swimming pool, and a variety of other onboard facilities.
Today, we’ll sail through the North Sea as we make our way back to Southampton. Start your day with breakfast delivered to your stateroom, relax by the pool (with hoists available), or join in the onboard activities—whether it’s games, a visit to the casino, or one of the many alternative events on offer. Each evening, the ship comes alive with spectacular shows, comedy performances, and karaoke, while the restaurants serve up an impressive selection of delicious dishes.
After your last breakfast, we’ll help you check-out. Your bags will be taken down by the Iona’s crew and our care team will be on-hand to assist you. From here you will join the transfers back to the pick-up points, relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for your next Limitless adventure. We can’t wait to see you again!
