Holiday Overview

Once the centre of the Western world, Rome wears its long and fascinating history proudly. Where else can you stumble across a 2000-year-old ruin when popping out for a coffee? But the Italian capital isn't just a relic of the past. Today, it's one of the world's great metropolises - a vibrant sprawl of mouthwatering restaurants, designer boutiques, brilliant museums and sun-dappled piazzas.

Renowned for its fantastic food and beloved by coffee enthusiasts, Rome is a city where you can enjoy the finer things in life. Where you can watch the world passing by while sipping on a limoncello at a local bar. Where you can get within metres of some of the greatest artwork to have graced the planet. Where you can spend the morning staring at the Sistine Chapel and the evening dining alfresco and watching street performers ply their trade.

On your accessible Italian holiday, we'll introduce you to the best the city has to offer. You'll visit the spiritual home of the Catholic faith, Vatican City, tour the imposing Colosseum to learn about gladiatorial combat, and throw a lucky coin into the Trevi Fountain. You'll also enjoy plenty of time to explore the city at your own pace, discovering its endless squares, streets and shops as you go.

Day 3 - The Largest Colosseum in the World

< >
If there’s one landmark that encapsulates Rome’s ancient history, it’s the majestic Colosseum. A grand arena where gladiators would battle to the death, the Colosseum was built in 70 AD and now, nearly 2000 years later, is counted amongst the world’s most iconic monuments. We’ll be taking a fully accessible route through the site, letting you experience the grandeur first-hand. After leaving the Colosseum, you’ll have the chance to tour the Imperial fora - the series of piazzas and ancient ruins that spreads out around the arena. An incredible opportunity to get close to the wonderfully preserved remains of one of the world’s greatest empires, this is definitely a day for the history buffs!

Day 4 - Piazza di Spagna

< >
Day Four of your accessible Rome holiday is all about exploring modern Rome and maybe even picking up a few souvenirs along the way. We’ll be heading to the world-famous shopping districts around Via Condotti and Via del Corso, where you’ll find designer Italian fashion, boutique coffee houses and a whole range of intriguing local shops and stores. The area is also home to one of the city’s most visited public spaces, the Piazza di Spagna. More commonly known as the Spanish Steps in English, the piazza is instantly recognisable, having appeared in countless films, fashion shows and photos. A great place to grab a refreshing drink or take some snaps, the Spanish Steps is one of the city’s most popular people-watching spots. So settle in and enjoy the Italian sunshine as the world passes by.
